Surprise Restoration and Construction — We Do Not Knock on Doors.
After a storm rolls through Surprise, the trucks show up. People go door to door offering free inspections, telling homeowners their roof is damaged, asking them to sign something so the contractor can "handle the insurance." Some of those companies are legitimate. A lot of them are not, and the West Valley's active adult communities get worked harder than almost anywhere in the Valley because whoever is doing it assumes older homeowners will be easier. We want to be clear about how we operate: we do not door-knock, we do not ask you to sign anything at the first visit, we do not require an assignment of your insurance benefits, and we will tell you when you do not need the work. That is the whole pitch. Beyond that we are a licensed general contractor and an IICRC certified restoration firm handling water, fire, storm, and mold damage across Surprise — homes, community facilities, rentals, and commercial — and we do the rebuild too, so you are not left finding a second contractor.

⚠️ How to Tell an Honest Contractor From One Who Is Working You
This is not a sales section. Storm-chasing and disaster fraud are genuine problems in the West Valley, and active adult communities get targeted disproportionately. You should know what the warning signs are whether you ever call us or not. Be cautious with anyone who shows up uninvited after a storm — legitimate contractors are generally busy with people who called them. Be very cautious about signing anything on a first visit, particularly an "authorization to inspect" or an assignment of benefits, which can sign over your right to deal with your own insurance company. Be cautious of anyone who wants a large payment up front, who pressures you to decide today, who offers to "cover your deductible" (which is insurance fraud and puts you at risk, not just them), or who cannot produce an Arizona ROC license number you can look up. And be cautious of anyone who tells you they found damage you cannot see and will not let you or anyone else verify it. You can check any contractor's license instantly on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors website. You are allowed to take a day. You are allowed to get a second opinion. Anyone who has a problem with either of those is telling you something.

Restoration Services in Surprise
Emergency Restoration for Surprise Homes, Communities, and Businesses
We respond 24/7 — and we rebuild everything we tear out.
Water Damage Restoration
Supply line and water heater failures, appliance leaks, AC condensate, and slab leaks. Full extraction, structural drying to verified moisture levels, and complete rebuild.
Storm & Monsoon Damage
Roof intrusion, wind damage, and debris impact. We assess honestly — if your roof is fine, we will tell you it is fine. Emergency tarping and stabilization when it is needed, then full repair.
Fire & Smoke Damage
Structure fires, kitchen fires, smoke and soot cleanup, odor elimination, and complete reconstruction — including the suppression water damage most restoration companies overlook.
Mold Remediation
Certified remediation with containment and independent third-party clearance testing. We use an independent tester rather than our own — a company that tests its own work and declares it clean has an obvious conflict of interest.
Emergency Restoration
24/7 board-up, roof tarping, structural shoring, vehicle impact, and break-in repair — for homes, community property, rentals, and commercial alike.
Reconstruction & Rebuild
Full put-back after any loss — framing, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, finishes — permitted and inspected through the City of Surprise. We also take over rebuilds when another company handled only the mitigation and left.
What "No Pressure" Actually Means in Practice
Anyone can say they are honest. Here is what it looks like operationally, so you can hold us to it.
We come when you call. We do not canvass neighborhoods after storms, we do not leave flyers on doors claiming your area has damage, and nobody from our company will ever show up at your house uninvited to tell you that you have a problem.
We do not need you to sign anything at the first visit. We will look at the damage, tell you what we see, and give you a written scope and estimate. You do not sign anything to get that. If we ever hand you a document at a first visit, read it, and if you do not want to sign it, do not.
We do not take assignment of your insurance benefits. Some contractors ask homeowners to sign an assignment of benefits, which transfers your rights under your own policy to them. We do not work that way. You stay in control of your claim, we coordinate with your adjuster on your behalf, and you approve the scope.
We will tell you when you do not need the work. If your roof came through the storm fine, we will say so. If a repair makes more sense than a replacement, we will say that. We would rather be the company you call next time than sell you something today.
You can verify us before we start. We are licensed with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, bonded, and insured, and we are IICRC certified. Look us up. Ask for our ROC number and check it. Any contractor who resists that request has told you what you need to know.
Take your time. Get another estimate. A legitimate contractor is not damaged by you getting a second opinion, and we would rather you feel confident than feel rushed.
Aging-in-Place Renovation — Done as Real Construction, Not as an Add-On
A large share of Surprise homeowners intend to stay in their homes, and small construction changes make an enormous difference in whether that is comfortable and safe. We do this work properly and permitted, rather than as a handyman add-on. That means curbless and low-threshold showers built with the correct slope, waterproofing, and drainage so they do not leak into the wall assembly two years later. Grab bar installation with real blocking behind the drywall rather than anchors into hollow wall, which is the difference between a bar that holds and a bar that comes out of the wall when someone actually needs it. Widened doorways and hallways framed and finished correctly. Comfort-height fixtures, lever hardware, improved lighting, and flooring transitions that remove trip hazards. Ramps and entry modifications built to code. If you are already renovating a bathroom or repairing after a water loss, that is the least expensive moment to build these changes in — the walls are already open — and we will raise it then rather than after the drywall is back up.
Checklist:
- Curbless and low-threshold showers, waterproofed and sloped correctly
- Grab bars with real blocking, not hollow-wall anchors
- Doorway and hallway widening, framed and finished
- Comfort-height fixtures and lever hardware
- Flooring transitions and trip hazard removal
- Ramps and entry modifications built to code
- Permitted work, not handyman add-ons

Master-Planned Community Homes

Original Townsite & Older Homes
Surprise's small original core has genuinely older housing with aged systems — supply lines, drains, panels, and roofing past service life — and those homeowners deserve the same contractor the master-planned communities get.

Rental & Investor Property
Turns, make-readies, rehabs, and tenant damage restoration, handled remotely for out-of-state owners.
We handle full-scope work because a lot of clients want one contractor and one point of accountability — not because it is the only way we work. If another company already handled the mitigation and you need the rebuild, we pick it up there. If you only want a bathroom made safer, that is a real project and we will do it. Tell us what you actually need and that is what we will quote.
Surprise Questions
Restoration Questions — Surprise
Someone knocked on my door after the storm and said my roof is damaged. Should I let them inspect it?
Be careful. Legitimate contractors are generally busy with people who called them, so an uninvited knock after a storm is worth treating with caution. If you do let someone look, do not sign anything that day — particularly an "authorization to inspect" or an assignment of benefits, which can transfer your rights under your own insurance policy to the contractor. Get the company's Arizona ROC license number and look it up before you agree to anything. And if they will not let you get a second opinion or they pressure you to decide immediately, that is your answer. You are allowed to take a day.
A contractor offered to cover my deductible. Is that a good deal?
No. Waiving or "covering" a homeowner's deductible is insurance fraud, and it exposes you as well as the contractor — you would be a participant in a false claim. It is also a reliable signal about how that company operates generally. A legitimate contractor will never offer it. If someone does, that alone is reason enough to send them away.
How do I check whether a contractor is licensed?
The Arizona Registrar of Contractors maintains a public license lookup. Ask for the company's ROC number, look it up, and confirm the license is active and in the right classification for your work. It takes about a minute. Any contractor who is reluctant to give you their ROC number has told you what you need to know. Ours is available on request and we would rather you check.
Do you do work to make a home safer to age in?
Yes, and we do it as real permitted construction rather than as a handyman add-on. Curbless and low-threshold showers built with correct slope, waterproofing, and drainage. Grab bars installed with actual blocking behind the drywall instead of hollow-wall anchors — that is the difference between a bar that holds and one that pulls out when someone needs it. Doorway widening framed and finished properly. Comfort-height fixtures, lever hardware, better lighting, trip hazard removal, and ramps built to code. If you are already renovating a bathroom or repairing after a water loss, that is the cheapest moment to build these in, because the walls are already open.
Do you work with our community association?
Yes. Surprise's active adult and master-planned communities own substantial property — recreation and community centers, clubhouses, fitness and pool facilities, ballrooms, craft buildings, and courts. We handle both 24/7 emergencies and planned capital work, with written scopes a board can review and approve, pricing itemized so it maps to reserve categories, and schedules that account for board approval taking longer than one person saying yes.
I am not sure whether I actually have damage. Will you come look?
Yes, and we will tell you the truth about what we find, including if the answer is that you do not need work done. We would rather be the company you call next time than sell you something today. There is no obligation and we will not follow up with pressure.
Do I have to hire you for the whole project, or can you just do one part?
Just one part is fine. If another company already did the mitigation and left, we do rebuilds regularly. If you only want one bathroom made safer, that is a real project and we will do it. Tell us what you actually need and that is what we will quote.
